PayPal has launched a new mobile credit card machine called the USB Swiper. This new solution, developed by Andrew Angell, is perfect for any business worldwide. Angell was awarded the Star Developer Award from PayPal for this. The USB has a magnetic card reader and is set to take PayPal into the market of POS (point of sale) devices.
The little USB device is used in conjunction with PayPal software works similarly to the point of sale devices that we are used to but without the merchant requiring a special merchant account from a conventional bank.

A once-off sign-up fee of USD197 is required and the monthly subscription is USD4.95. Various forms and invoices are generated by the system.
Transaction data is stored only long enough to complete an entire transaction which benefits the card holder and the merchant. The USB Swiper can accept all major credit card types.
A laptop with internet access is all that is required to process transactions from anywhere, anytime. The low costs associated puts the USB Swiper above all other point of sales systems.
PayPal’s 24 hour Payment Resolution Center notifies the merchant immediately of any disputes or errors, allowing the merchant to take corrective actions. Conventional banks and merchant accounts could take up to 90 days to notify the merchant.
